Bridal Shower Fun

My sister is getting married next month! Since it’s getting closer, I wanted to plan a super fun bridal shower. I had a vision of something rustic and girly and I think we nailed it. The venue, Metro North in Princeton, NJ, is absolutely beautiful. (and the food is great too!) It has a great ambiance and a lot of exposed beams that added so much charm. With that being said, I knew I didn’t have to go overboard with the decorations.

For the invite, I watercolored some flowers and had a friend of mine who is super talented paint my sister’s dog Zoey. Those motifs ended up going on all of the paper products. With the invite, I sent a recipe card to be brought to the shower with a favorite recipe. I picked up a gorgeous recipe tin from Rifle Paper for the cards to go in.

There were a few games – nothing embarrasing! A guessing game, a quiz about the bride and groom, and a find the groom game. Each were a big hit! For a guest book, I wanted to do something fun. Since I already had the photobooth pipe structure from Dylan’s birthday, we bought a flowery shower curtain from Bed, Bath, and Beyond for a pretty photobooth. To decorate the backdrop we bought love balloons from amazon and made some jumbo paper flowers.

We picked up one of those fujifilm instant cameras – they are so fun!! – and a notebook, again from Rifle Paper. The guests could then take a fun photo, tape the photo in the book, and write a note or give some advice. This was a huge hit! To stick with the flowery theme, I made some over the top flower headbands.

For favors, we ordered bath bombs from an Etsy seller. We added a little ribbon and a card on them saying “From Juli’s Shower to Yours!”

Since my sister is a nurse, my mom wanted to pin all of the bows and ribbons onto a scrub top instead of a funny hat. This was so sweet! It’s always fun to make a traditional element a little more personal.
